Our Work

SDI works in several development areas.  Our focus areas include:

1.  HIV/AIDS
2. Youth Development
3. Disaster Risk Reduction - SDI has been engaging in research, training, advocacy, humanitarian assistance activities in order to help communities, recover, adapt and manage disaster
4. Economic empowerment - SDI incorporates economic empowerment in most of its programmes. We believe that an economically empowered community builds resilience to threats and risk that affect productivity and participation  in development activities
5. Environment and natural resources management
6. Social enterprise - SDI engages in social enterprises  to deliver social, environmental and economic returns to communities and to contribute to local sustainable development. These social enterprises are also a fundraising tool to support charity work  and SDI programmes. Sustainable Options Limited (SOL) is the enterprise management unit for SDI
